Maryellen Royle directs client services for the Philadelphia-based public relations team of more than 25 PR professionals working with leading companies in pharma, biopharma, consumer products, and device and diagnostics.
A strategic partner to her clients, Maryellen is deeply involved in all stages of client work, from program conception through planning, execution, and follow-up. Maryellen is an innovator in healthcare public relations, consistently guiding her teams in interpreting clinical data to effectively reach and impact consumer audiences. Her extensive knowledge in public relations includes professional and consumer media relations, issues management, and medical education—with expertise in new and established medical products in pediatrics, women’s health, gastroenterology, rheumatology, cardiology, and ophthalmology.
At Dorland Global since 1992, Maryellen has played a strategic role in developing and implementing public relations campaigns for such leading companies as Centocor, McNeil Consumer Healthcare, Janssen Pharmaceutica, Eisai, Bristol-Myers Squibb, and Cytyc Corporation.
Maryellen remains an active member in the public relations community, frequently speaking and writing on healthcare-related public relations topics. In 2007, Maryellen serves as education chairperson for the first Philadelphia PRSA Institute for entry- and middle-level PR professionals. She is also involved in the Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association and was one of the recipients of the organization’s ‘Rising Star’ award in 2004. Beyond her professional commitments, Maryellen stays active in her community with involvement in youth athletics.
Before coming to Dorland Global, Maryellen worked at two Philadelphia-area public relations and advertising agencies, and was a freelance writer for for the West Chester Daily Local News.
Maryellen graduated with honors from Temple University with a BA in journalism.
